Excited for a new Science Chatter Podcast Series
Podcasting Hydrogen: A Science Chatter Workshop at UDE
I’m excited to announce an upcoming Science Chatter podcast workshop with 10 postdocs from the University of Duisburg-Essen, all working within the research network “Natural Water to Hydrogen.” Over the course of two full days (October 9 and 10, 2025), we’ll explore the power of science communication through podcasting — and each team of two will produce their own podcast episode.
These episodes will be published right here on Science Chatter – and I can’t wait to hear what stories, insights, and perspectives will emerge from their work!
I’m Theresa, and this is the trailer for Science Chatter: Natural Water to Hydrogen. In October, I’ll work with postdoctoral researchers from the Natural Water to Hydrogen project at the University of Duisburg-Essen to turn their research into compelling podcast episodes.
What is Science Chatter?
Researchers often tell me they enjoy science communication and want to do it more—what they lack is time and opportunities. Science Chatter solves that by combining training with practical outreach. Within a single workshop, participants plan, record, edit, and publish their own episode—end-to-end. No extra “someday” time needed; the finished result is the training outcome.
On October 9 and 10, 2025, we’ll meet for two hands-on days to shape five episodes from idea to release. I’m excited to hear how the team translates complex questions around producing hydrogen from natural water into stories listeners can follow and remember.
If this trailer leaves you curious, stay tuned—the episodes are on their way, created by the researchers themselves.

The Natural Water to Hydrogen project is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (MKW NRW). The views expressed are those of the participants and do not necessarily represent the position of the funding institution.
